Visit in Jordan

We just came back from 3 days in Jordan. I had been nagging over Abed's head for so long to visit Petra that finally, it paid off!! Well, he had a seminar there already and just extended his stay so I could join him. On the day of arrival, he made me discover the Dead Sea which is about 1h from the capital Amman. One of the peculiarity of the Dead Sea is its high concentration in salt making drowning impossible to one who doesn't know how to swim. Better, you will float no matter what. Demonstration!
Because of its high salinity, it is just impossible to find any animal or floral life but it is also why the Dead Sea's mud is so beneficial for your body and your health as it is charged of minerals!

You'll then only need to jump in the Dead Sea to rinse off! More pics here.

Second day was spent at the magnificient and ancient city of Petra! You may recognise the place if you have seen Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade since it's been shot there. The entire city is carved into rocks and is also called the rose-red city because of the cliffs astonishing colors. The city is huge! We've spent like 5 hours but were far from seeing all that had to be seen on the site.

It was really worth the 3 hours drive from the Dead Sea! Though the view of the city was wonderful, the smell of it was just berrkkkkk! If you don't feel like walking, you always have the option of renting donkeys, camels and horses! Well you know what's the problem with those animals, right? They s*** everywhere but it is not as bad as I say it but still...
Petra pics here.

Finally on our last day, we stayed in the capital Amman. Unless you know someone there, I won't suggest anyone to stay in Amman because there are no places to visit! Shaden, a Jordanian friend and colleague of Abed, took us around the city but even she told us that there is nothing much in Amman for tourists but at least we got to see her and her family!
